LDS volunteers organized under the Church’s Latter-day Saint Charities organization have joined the United States Navy and other relief organizations on a humanitarian and medical training mission that is bringing relief and healing to thousands.

Aboard the USNS Comfort, a full-service medical hospital ship, LDS personnel are serving as nurses, administrators and translators.  Anchoring off seven countries in the Caribbean, South America and Central America, medical teams provided much-needed surgeries ranging from cleft palate reconstruction to cataract repair.

The following  report was aired on the Church’s World Report broadcast program.
